I Will Not Die An Unlived Life . . .

I will not die an unlived life.
I will not live in fear
of falling or catching fire.
I choose to inhabit my days,
to allow my living to open me,
to make me less afraid,
more accessible,
to loosen my heart
until it becomes a wing,
a torch, a promise.
I choose to risk my significance;
to live so that which came to me as seed
goes to the next as blossom
and that which came to me as blossom,
goes on as fruit.

"Never Tease a Weasel"

This assemblage is made in a box that may have had a previous life as a jewelry box.  I covered the box in poka-dot fabric, and the glass door is covered in "music" fabric.  Inside are various found items that include a cork screw, a wooden articulated artist model.  On the back side is an image of Marilyn Monroe wearing butterfly wings and a dress made of ribbons.  The piece stands on black dice, and topped with a white round drawer pull.

"Talk To The Hand"

"Talk To The Hand"
Glass lidded cigar box lined with vintage wooden dominoes and covered on the inside with hand woven cloth from Peru. A porcelain doll's head talking to her hand, seemingly wanting to know the future by any means possible. On the backside is a tattered image of Frieda Kahlo with a message 'sonrisa' finished in front using typewriter letters 'diablo' (smile to the devil). Brass suitcase drawer pull on top for handle, and golden tassel on the side for color.  IN PRIVATE COLLECTION
