"The Real Trio"

"The Real Trio"
In preparation for "Day of the Dead", I offer this piece constructed in a wooden cigar box, containing 3 small ceramic 'Catrinas' dressed for the occasion.  On the back side, the scene is a collage of magazine imagery, which includes a colorful wall and a vintage coca-cola refrigerator on some dusty street in Old Mexico while a fancy pig meanders by.  The piece contains a wind-up music box, and sits on a swivel platform covered in colorful artist's tissues.  On top, coca-cola bottle caps add more color, and a brass suitcase- handle makes it easy to carry. 2. Hi Rebecca--back again. I wanted to answer your questions. I found the drawer and bottle at the Highway 127 sale (BIG flea market in the summer) just plain. I always can find these drawers there at fairly reasonalbe prices. All of the pieces on the bottle are just little odds and ends that I find in my stash, and the on the drawer I applied the Graphic 45 scrapbook papers (my new Love) and the fun doorknob is old also. And actually I explain what Steampunk is on the post before my newest one or probably you could find it on Wikipedia--it makes for fun art!!
